New advertising strategy increases market attendance
The Shields Valley Farmers Market needed to develop an advertising strategy and a print ad to use to increase the number of people who are aware of and attend the market. This became even more important than anticipated during the 2021 market season due to changes in the social media environment, which made that marketing tool much less effective than it had been in previous years.
Impact Story:
Throughout the season, members of the SVFM Steering Committee would approach groups of visitors to the farmers market and ask if they had seen an ad for the market anywhere. It was surprisingly common for someone in the group to say they had seen an ad in the Enterprise. Unprompted, the most common reaction was, "It really grabbed my attention." The second most common comment was, "I love the chicken!"
